I graduated in 2014 from A New Beginning School of Massage in Austin, Texas, a 500-hour, nationally accredited licensure program, while also studying CranioSacral Therapy* at the internationally recognized Upledger Institute. During my first year of practice, I became fascinated with the fascial system** of connective tissue and its clear connection to the entire body, including the mind. In 2015, I began studying Myofascial Release Therapy*** with John F. Barnes, PT, a leading authority in light touch therapies and, according to the national magazine Massage Therapy, one of the most influential persons in the therapeutic profession in the last century.
Studying with John Barnes has deepened my awareness of the body-mind connection and an understanding that everyone is capable of experiencing the deepest form of healing when given the right environment. By fostering an awareness in my clients of the mind-body connection and empowering them with tools for self-healing, I hope to help them live their lives as pain free as possible.
After working for two years at Clear Point Wellness, an Austin Chiropractic and wellness center, and attending numerous seminars, I knew that I wanted to develop my own practice specializing in Myofascial Release. I established Restore Bodywork, a private practice and logical outgrowth of my long-time interest in alternative health therapies. I see both physician-referred and self-referred clients. Because of the gentle nature of the massage, I can work with a wide variety of clients, from babies to the elderly. I look forward to growing my practice by helping the public learn more about Myofascial Release Therapy and by spreading the word through satisfied clients.
*CranioSacral Therapy relieves pain and tension by gently treating the whole body with a focus on the skull, spinal cord, and sacrum. By synchronizing the natural rhythm of the central nervous system, fascial restrictions are released and the body is eased in to a state of healing.
**The fascial system is the uninterrupted web of connective tissue that envelops, supports, and protects every structure in the body.
***Myofascial Release Therapy eliminates pain and restores movement through gentle sustained pressure to relieve restrictions in the body’s web of connective tissue.
